Despite repeated complaints, my copies would either not arrive or arrive erratically. The irritating renewal notice that they used to send me almost every month, beginning just two months into the annual subscription, didn't help matters either. Finally, their spam filter would reject all emails sent through my personal email account and I had to create a separate email account just to be able to communicate with them.
In contrast, I have had a subscription to The Economist for over five years and I have never faced such problems with them, even though they deliver 51 issues in a year versus just 12 issues for DDJ.

DDJ hard to get here in states...need help...want desperately to find a book on novice programming...anyone send ideas to jwkearney@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis is a late reply and the material is a bit dated however if you can find the "Al Stevens C/C++ Cram Course" (on CD) it's highly recommended. Electronic editions of three of his books which take the reader from BASIC and no experience through C++.
